The 2025 WNBA championship odds suggest last year’s champs, Liberty, are once again the team to beat. New York edged Minnesota in a contentious five-game series to win their first franchise title. Can they repeat, or will other teams spoil their plans?
I’ll take a look at the WNBA odds to win the championship, analyze the favorites, and highlight my favorite sleeper. Then, I’ll give you my early WNBA championship prediction as the regular season is just two weeks away!
2025 WNBA Championship Betting Odds
TEAM | ODDS |
---|---|
New York Liberty | +225 |
Indiana Fever | +250 |
Las Vegas Aces | +300 |
Minnesota Lynx | +400 |
Phoenix Mercury | +850 |
Los Angeles Sparks | +3500 |
Atlanta Dream | +5000 |
Seattle Storm | +7000 |
Dallas Wings | +8000 |
Golden State Valkyries | +8000 |
Chicago Sky | +8500 |
Washington Mystics | +10000 |
Connecticut Sun | +10000 |
The defending champions New York Liberty (+225) have stayed atop the odds at WNBA betting sites! The Liberty were +165 back in November, which means you get a better return by making this wager now. New York has an implied win probability of 30.8% to go back-to-back, but there are some questions about their roster.
The Indiana Fever (+250) are still feeling the Caitlin Clark effect as they are now second to New York in the WNBA title odds, and they were +1200 back in November! The Fever have an implied win chance of 28.6%, but they made plenty of moves in the offseason, including getting a new head coach.
Las Vegas (+300) are next in the WNBA championship odds with an implied win probability of 25%. The Aces had more time off this summer after failing to win their third title in a row. One of their core players will also play elsewhere, but the Aces still have the league’s best player in A’ja Wilson.
Minnesota (+400) is next after losing a thrilling series to the Liberty in the WNBA Finals. Napheesa Collier is one of the best players in the WNBA, and the core of their roster is back.
Phoenix (+850) heads into their first season of the post-Diana Taurasi era as the legend retired this summer. Brittney Griner is gone as well, to Atlanta, but Kahleah Copper can step into the spotlight.
The WNBA title odds fall drastically to Los Angeles (+3500), and even further to Atlanta (+5000). You can basically cut the league in half in terms of picking a winner. Any team lower than the Sparks, who traded Jewell Loyd to Las Vegas for Kelsey Plum, will need a lot to go right to win the championship!

2025 WNBA Championship Favorites
Let’s tip things off by looking at the favorites to lift the championship trophy at the end of the 2025 season!
New York Liberty (+225)
-
- Head Coach: Sandy Brondello
- 2024 Record: 32-8 (Won WNBA Title)
- WNBA Titles: 1
- Key Players: Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, Jonquel Jones
The Liberty finally won their first WNBA title as a franchise in their sixth try! The roster was well-balanced, ranking second in points per game, and third in points allowed. Their defense was even better in the postseason, when they were first in points allowed!

Breanna Stewart continues to be one of the top players in the league, finishing fourth in points (20.4), eighth in rebounds (8.5), and ranked in the top 10 of both steals and blocks. Sabrina Ionescu added 18.2 points, 6.2 assists, and 4.4 rebounds, while Jonquel Jones added a 38.8% three-point shot to her post game. Jones was the WNBA Playoff MVP on the Liberty title run!
Veterans Courtney Vandersloot and Kayla Thornton left for Chicago and Golden State, respectively. But the Liberty traded the No.7 in the WNBA Draft to Connecticut for Natasha Cloud, who actually played in Phoenix last season and was third in the league in assists with 6.9 per game. She averaged 11.5 points while contributing solid defense and passing, and is probably an upgrade on Vandersloot. The Liberty will also have to wait on Betnijah Laney-Hamilton, who might miss most of the season with a knee injury.
Sandy Brondello is one of the best coaches in the league, and has two of the top 10–12 players in Stewart and Ionescu. If the Liberty can stay healthy, they’ll be a threat to repeat as WNBA champions!
Indiana Fever (+250)
-
- Head Coach: Stephanie White
- 2024 Record: 20-20 (Lost in First Round)
- WNBA Titles: 1
- Key Players: Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell
The Fever returned to the playoffs for the first time in 2016, and will be looking to add a series win to their resume. The WNBA title odds are expecting more than that, but the Fever made some moves that could vault them to the top of the pack!
— Indiana Fever (@IndianaFever) April 30, 2025
There are a slew of Caitlin Clark prop bets you can make, and the Fever will lean heavily on the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year. Clark averaged 19.2 points and her 8.4 assists led the league.
As good as Clark is, the Fever are more than just their star point guard. Aliyah Boston averaged 14.0 points and 8.9 rebounds, while Kelsey Mitchell averaged 19.2 points and was very efficient. The Fever’s issues stemmed from their defense. Only Dallas allowed more points per game than Indiana.
The Fever bolstered their team with veterans like DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard, Sophie Cunningham, and Sydney Colson. These are experienced players that can help guide Clark and Boston along, and they don’t need to carry the same load they did on former teams.
The biggest move Indiana made was replacing head coach Christie Sides with Stephanie White, who coached in Indiana in 2015 and 2016. White took Connecticut, where she coached Bonner, to the semifinals in each of the last two seasons. She’s a definite upgrade over Sides.
The Fever are being overvalued because of Clark, and I’d like to see how the team gels early in the season. But there is no doubt that Indiana should improve, and if they’re even average defensively, the Fever could stay close to the top of the WNBA title odds all season!
Las Vegas Aces (+300)
-
- Head Coach: Becky Hammon
- 2024 Record: 27-13 (Lost in Semifinals)
- WNBA Titles: 2
- Key Players: A’ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray, Jewell Loyd
It was a down year for the Aces, which means they were still second in the regular season with a 27-13 record, and lost in the semifinals. After finishing first in the league and winning the title in two straight years, the Aces probably appreciated the extended summer break.

A’ja Wilson won her third WNBA MVP in five seasons, leading the league in points (26.9) and blocks (2.6), and she was second in rebounds (11.9) and fifth in steals (1.8). Chelsea Gray was hampered by injuries for the first half of last season, but she’s healthy now. Jackie Young is also back, but the Aces need more from Kiah Stokes in the post.
The Aces also traded one of their core players, Kelsey Plum, to Los Angeles, while getting Jewell Loyd from Seattle, who received the No.2 pick from the Sparks. Plum spent six seasons in Las Vegas and was an essential part of their team. However, Loyd, while a year older at 31, is a better all-around player than Plum, even if her three-point percentage dipped to 27.4% last season. She can be an excellent secondary scorer to take pressure off Wilson.
Becky Hammon is back as head coach, and the aim is to get back to the Finals for Las Vegas. At 28, Wilson is right in the middle of her prime. If the Aces can shore up a defense that was leaky at times (sixth in points allowed), they’ll be in the mix for the WNBA title odds!
Minnesota Lynx (+400)
-
- Head Coach: Cheryl Reeve
- 2024 Record: 30-10 (Lost in WNBA Finals)
- WNBA Titles: 4
- Key Players: Napheesa Collier, Kayla McBride, Courtney Williams
The Lynx lost a hard-fought Finals to New York, in which head coach Cheryl Reeve accused the league of stealing the title from Minnesota. It was still a terrific season for the Lynx, and especially for Napheesa Collier, who joins Wilson and Stewart as the best players in the WNBA.

Collier was tied for fourth in points (20.4), third in rebounds (9.7), second in steals (1.9), and sixth in blocks (1.4). She raised her game in the playoffs, averaging 23.8 points and 8.9 boards, along with 2.1 steals and 1.9 blocks.
Kayla McBride and Courtney Williams might be the best guard combo in the league, and Alanna Smith is a load in the post. Bridget Carleton’s shooting left her at the worst times, but the Canadian is ready to bounce back.
The Lynx might have to ride their starters because there is a depth issue here. Myisha Hines-Allen left for Dallas, so more is needed from Natisha Hiedeman and Diamond Miller. Reeve will have to find a diamond (no pun intended) in the rough, but as long as the starters stay healthy, the Lynx will be a threat once again this season!
2025 WNBA Championship Sleeper
Next, let’s check out a potential sleeper to watch for in these WNBA title odds.
Los Angeles Sparks (+3500)
-
- Head Coach: Lynne Roberts
- 2024 Record: 8-32 (Missed Playoffs)
- WNBA Titles: 3
- Key Players: Kelsey Plum, Dearica Hamby, Cameron Brink
The Sparks are coming off the worst season in franchise history, so just getting back to .500 would be a boost for them. But they made some moves in the offseason to get pointed in the right direction, starting with the trade to get Plum.

Plum is a player who knows how to win championships. She also played with Dearica Hamby in Las Vegas, and Hamby led the Sparks with 17.3 points. Odyssey Sims and Rickea Jackson are also back. Rookies Sarah Ashlee Barker and Sania Feagin will also get a chance to contribute early. But the most important piece could be Cameron Brink.
The center was picked second in the 2024 WNBA Draft, but played just 15 games before tearing her ACL. Brink should be back by June, and she’ll be a massive piece of the puzzle when she returns for the Sparks.
The franchise also brought a new head coach in Lynne Roberts, who takes over for Curt Miller. This is Roberts’ first head-coaching job in the WNBA, but she has had recent success with Utah in the NCAA Tournament.
Roberts will lean on her veterans, but there’s a lot to like about the Sparks, and at +3500, the return looks pretty good!
2025 WNBA Championship Prediction and Betting Pick
The WNBA title odds are mostly priced appropriately, although I think Indiana should still be behind Las Vegas and Minnesota. There is a lot to like about all these teams, but many questions as well.
However, I’m going to make Las Vegas at +300 my WNBA championship prediction! I think they’ll be rested and motivated to get back to the top of the league, and Wilson is still the best player in the WNBA.
Loyd is an upgrade over Plum, and Gray will be healthy to start the season, which is massive. I’m grabbing Las Vegas’s WNBA title odds at +300 while I have the chance!
